Tata Motors commenced the bookings for its new Sierra SUV on December 16 at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The new Sierra aims to help establish Tata Motors in the highly competitive mid-sized SUV market and the booking response on Day 1 looks promising for the carmaker. Between its seven trim levels, three engine options and three transmission options, the Sierra is priced between Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.29 lakh ex-showroom. Here's how many people put down their hard-earned money to book a Sierra on Day 1.

A day after the Sierra bookings commenced on December 16, Tata Motors announced that over 70,000 order confirmations were made for the SUV on the first day.
Additionally, over 1.35 lakh customers logged in to the booking portal and submitted their preferred Sierra configuration. However, these customers have not submitted the Rs 21,000 booking amount yet.
In comparison, the Harrier EV had recorded 10,000 bookings on the first day of bookings in July 2025. This gives a promising start to the resurrection of the Sierra in the modern era. Between the Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ trim levels, there is a Sierra for everyone.
At the base Smart+ trim level, the Sierra offers over 50 safety and comfort features along with the option of a petrol and diesel engine. This makes it attractive to buyers from the lower segment. A the top-end Accomplished+ trim level, the Sierra offers segment-leading features such as a triple screen set up, Level 2 ADAS safety, Head-Up Display and more. It also offers the all-new 1.5-litre Hyperion, turbo-petrol engine in the top-end variants. This makes it attractive to customers shopping in higher segments. Last but not least, the Sierra name itself has the nostalgia factor and Tata Motors has done its bit in retaining the OG Sierra's iconic design cues.
With deliveries scheduled to start from January 2026, it remains to be seen if the new Sierra SUV will prove to be the missing link in Tata Motors' efforts to dominate the mid-sized SUV market. Keep reading Times Now Auto for more instant updates on all new SUV launches.
