Confused between two highly popular retros: the Jawa 350 and the Yezdi Roadster? Here is how you can make the right choice. While both motorcycles come from the same family and have a common foundation, they stand apart in tuning, character, and riding experience. Read on to find out which one offers the best value for your money.
Jawa 350 vs Yezdi Roadster: Design
The same Classic Legends 334cc platform does duty on both the retros, but their design language moves in completely different directions. The Jawa 350 could be an ideal pick for pure classic lovers because it carries a timeless retro silhouette. It comes with a tall and upright stance. There's a flowing line from its circular headlamp to the teardrop fuel tank. Moreover, the metal fenders, all finished in heavy chrome,
add to the old-school charm.
When it comes to Roadster, you'll find a more aggressive street-bobber style, with a low-slung, beefy profile, a compact handlebar, and a chopped rear section. While with Jawa, you get a chrome-plated tank, exhausts, and engine covers, the Roadster contrasts with the matte-black, stealth-focused highlights. On the Jawa bike, the traditional round halogen headlamp with an analog-style cluster still exists, while the Roadster has updated to a modern LED headlamp with DRLs and a fully digital offset display. Even at the rear, the Jawa stays classic with wire-spoke wheels, long metal mudguards, and a single-piece bench seat, whereas the Roadster feels more contemporary with alloy wheels, a chopped fender setup, and a modular split seat that can be converted into a clean single-seat bobber style.
Jawa 350 vs Yezdi Roadster: Engine
Both the Jawa 350 and Yezdi Roadster have a familiar 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, but their tuning is what brings a mark of distinction. The Jawa 350 produces around 22.5bhp and 28.1Nm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. In comparison, its Yezdi sibling has a bit of a stronger output of about 28.7bhp and 29.6Nm. That said, it also comes with a 6-speed gearbox.
Jawa 350 vs Yezdi Roadster: Hardware and Ergonomics
The Jawa 350 comes with spoke wheels with tube tyres, a 280mm front disc brake, and is a little heavier, with a more classic setup at around 194 kg. It gets a longer 1,449mm wheelbase and a slightly larger 13.2-litre fuel tank for touring. On the other hand, the Yezdi Roadster features alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, a larger 320mm front disc, and is lightweight at 184 kg. It boasts a slightly shorter 1,440mm wheelbase and a marginally smaller 12.5-litre tank.
Jawa 350 vs Yezdi Roadster: Price
The Jawa 350 starts at Rs 2.11 lakh, while the Yezdi Roadster has a beginning price of Rs 1.96 lakh. Both are ex-showroom prices.
