safety, highlighting excellent protection in both frontal and side-impact tests. According to the official data sheet, the cabin remained stable in the frontal offset crash, and all critical areas for the front passenger showed “good” protection. Child occupant safety was even more impressive, scoring 93%, with the SUV earning maximum points for its performance in both the 6-year-old and 10-year-old dummy tests. The report notes that head, chest, and body protection for children was consistently rated “good,” and the car’s child presence detection feature also contributed to its score.

The updated electric SUV received 86% for vulnerable road-user protection. The official charts show that head impact protection was largely good or adequate, with some weaker areas near the windscreen pillars. The Model Y’s autonomous emergency braking system also performed strongly, scoring well across pedestrian and cyclist scenarios, including cyclist “dooring” prevention, where the car warns occupants to avoid opening doors into an oncoming cyclist.
