Local Assembly Begins
As the new model rolls off the assembly line, we can see a strategic shift for the brand, bringing the SUV closer to Indian customers. For those who don't know, the Tayron R-Line made its global debut last year. The company has opted for a local production so that it can price the model competitively in our market and possibly increase the sales volume once the Tayron R-Line launches.
Positioning And Segment
You will see the Tayron R-Line competing in India's premium seven-seat SUV category. The model is expected to intrigue buyers who are looking for more space and an advanced feature suite. It will fill the gap that the Tiguan Allspace left after being discontinued from the market.
Expected Features And Specs
On the mechanical front, the Tayron R-Line will carry a 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine under its hood. The engine will come mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox with an all-wheel-drive setup just like the other R-Lines in this lineup. The Tayron R-Line will feature a 2,789 mm long wheelbase plus some advanced interior tech like a 12.9-inch touchscreen, navigation system, driving mode selection, front seats with height adjustment, a digital driver display, headlight range control as well as improved safety features.
