Honda has officially unveiled the 2026 Africa Twin CRF1100L for international markets, bringing subtle but meaningful updates to its flagship adventure motorcycle. The latest version continues to focus
on long-distance touring, off-road capability, and everyday usability, while refining areas like suspension setup, electronics, and equipment. The Africa Twin remains available in standard and Adventure Sports variants, along with options for a manual gearbox or Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). With this update, Honda has chosen to evolve the model rather than introduce a full redesign, ensuring that the core strengths of the Africa Twin stay intact while addressing rider feedback and improving overall performance.

Engine And Performance
The 2026 Africa Twin continues to use the 1,084cc parallel-twin engine, which is known for its strong mid-range performance and smooth power delivery. The motor is tuned to provide usable torque across a wide rev range, making it suitable for both highway touring and trail riding. Power and torque figures remain largely unchanged, ensuring consistency in performance.
The engine is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or the optional DCT gearbox, which allows clutch-free gear shifts and automatic riding modes. This setup helps cater to a wide range of riders, from traditional adventure bike users to those preferring automatic convenience.
Chassis And Suspension Updates
Honda has made small refinements to the suspension setup for better stability and comfort. The Africa Twin continues to use long-travel Showa suspension components that support off-road riding and uneven terrain. The Adventure Sports variant gets additional tuning focused on touring comfort and high-speed stability.
The frame remains unchanged, retaining the lightweight steel structure that balances strength and flexibility. Wheel options also continue in the familiar configuration, with the standard model using a 21-inch front wheel for off-road use.
Electronics And Rider Aids
The 2026 model carries forward Honda’s advanced electronics package. This includes multiple riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, and cruise control. These systems are adjustable and can be fine-tuned based on riding conditions.
A large TFT display remains standard, offering smartphone connectivity, navigation support, and ride information. Honda has improved software calibration to make rider aids more predictable and easier to manage.
Design And Equipment
Visually, the Africa Twin keeps its adventure-focused design, with only minor updates to graphics and colour options. The bodywork continues to offer wind protection while maintaining a slim profile for off-road control.
Features such as adjustable windscreen, USB charging port, and heated grips on select variants continue to be offered.
