Bentley is taking bespoke car finishes to a whole new level with its latest paint option, 'Ombre by Mulliner.' Priced at an eye-watering $68,000 (approx Rs 59.97 lakh), the new finish costs more than a brand-new Toyota Fortuner, whose GR-S (2.8L) 4x4 AT costs Rs 52.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ombre finish, first seen on a Continental GT Speed at Monterey Car Week, has now been offered on the Flying Spur. It creates a dramatic colour fade from the front of the car to the back. The name “Ombre,” which means “shaded” in French, sums up the effect: a seamless transition between two different paint tones.
Applying the finish isn’t a quick job. Bentley’s Mulliner team spends nearly 60 hours hand-spraying each car. Two distinct colours are carefully layered
and blended until they merge without harsh lines or unintended shades. Because of the precision involved, every Ombre-finished Flying Spur is essentially a one-off.

Current combinations include Topaz Blue blending into Windsor Blue, Sunburst Gold fading into Orange Flame, and Tungsten shifting to Onyx. Bentley says more colour options will be added as clients demand new looks, making this one of the most personalised paint offerings in its history.
The price reflects the complexity and craftsmanship required. At $68,000, the Ombre option eclipses the cost of several mainstream cars, including the Toyota Fortuner. It’s an unapologetically exclusive feature for buyers who want something unique and don’t mind paying for it. Bentley debuted the Flying Spur with Ombre paint at the Southampton International Boat Show. The finish adds a bold statement to an already opulent sedan.
