The rollout of GST 2.0 has brought good news for motorcycle buyers in India. With the new tax structure reducing prices of bikes under the 350cc category, popular commuter motorcycles are now more affordable
than before. Among the biggest beneficiaries is the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Version 4.0, one of the brand’s highest-selling models in the country.
Before the tax cut, the FZ-S Fi Ver 4.0 carried a price tag of around Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom). With GST 2.0 in effect, the bike is now priced at Rs 1.20 lakh, translating to a direct reduction of nearly Rs 10,896. That makes it one of the most value-for-money Yamaha motorcycles available this festive season.
Under the tank, the FZ-S Fi packs a 149cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke SOHC engine producing 12.4 hp at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox and features fuel injection. The bike is also E20 fuel compatible.

In terms of practicality, the FZ-S Fi tips the scales at 136 kg with a seat height of 790 mm, making it accessible for a wide range of riders. Ground clearance stands at 165 mm, while it has a 1,330 mm wheelbase. A 13-litre fuel tank ensures a decent range.
On the hardware front, the bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres: 100/80 at the front and 140/60 radial at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 282 mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a 220 mm rear disc. Suspension comes via a telescopic fork at the front and a 7-step adjustable Monocross unit at the rear.
