India’s one of the most beloved family cars, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, just got a big safety and technology upgrade in its 2025 version and it is now safer than ever with six airbags standard across all models.
This hatchback is known for its tall-boy design and roomy interiors, due to which it has long been a top choice for city drivers who want a compact car with practicality and comfort with great mileage without spending too much. This new update keeps everything intact people love about the Wagon R and makes it even better.

The 2025 model offers two petrol engines which are 1.0L and 1.2L, along with a CNG option for those who want to save extra
on fuel. You can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox, depending on how you like to handle your car.
Here’s what really stands out:
- Mileage: It has up to 25.19 km/l for petrol and 34.05 km/kg for the CNG version.
- Space: It has got 341-litre boot, however a bit smaller in the CNG variant.
- Safety: Six airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist (for AMT models), and rear parking sensors for all standard.
- Tech & Comfort: It is equipped with a 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and steering-mounted controls on higher trims.
The Wagon R comes in several variants which are LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+ and the prices start around Rs 4,98,900 (ex-showroom) and go up to about Rs 6,94,900 (ex-showroom).
