Maruti Brezza facelift is going to arrive soon with its first major update since launch. There will be a turbo-petrol engine likely joining the lineup for the first time. The facelift is expected to arrive around July 2026 and for buyers currently cross-shopping compact SUVs, that's worth knowing before signing on the existing model since the changes go well beyond a cosmetic refresh. If you are planning to bring home this popular SUV soon, here's all you need to know.
What Engine Options Can We Expect?
The standout addition is expected to be a new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, likely producing around 98.6 hp and 147.6 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This would be a genuinely new powertrain for the Brezza rather than a tuned version of the existing
unit and it's expected to come with lower GST applicable to sub-1.2-litre turbo engines which could help offset some of the price increase that usually comes with added performance.
The current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol which makes around 103 hp and 137 Nm with a 5-speed manual, is likely to continue alongside it rather than being replaced. A factory-fitted underbody CNG tank is also expected to replace the current boot-mounted kit and freeing up cargo space, similar to what Maruti Suzuki has already done with the Victoris.
What Other Changes Can Buyers Expect Inside and Out?
Inside, the touchscreen is likely to grow to around 10.1 inches with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a redesigned dashboard with new upholstery and trim finishes is also expected. Level 2 ADAS could be introduced as well, something the current Brezza doesn't offer at all.
Externally, expect a revised front grille, new fog lamp housing and bumper, a thicker faux skid plate finished in silver as well as a fresh alloy wheel design. None of this changes the Brezza's basic dimensions or platform, so this remains a mid-cycle update rather than a generational change.
When Will the Brezza Facelift Launch, and What Will It Cost?
As per several industry reports, a July 2026 launch is widely expected. This basically fits into Maruti Suzuki's broader plan to update the Brezza, Fronx and Grand Vitara by March 2027. Pricing for the current Brezza starts at Rs 8.26 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.04 lakh (ex-showroom) and the facelift is likely to see prices move upward given the new engine, added safety tech along with feature upgrades though Maruti Suzuki hasn't confirmed exact figures yet. Buyers planning to wait should expect to pay a premium over the current range for the turbo-petrol variant specifically.
