The new-gen Audi Q7 is more than a glow-up. The four-ring brand has overhauled its three-row family cruiser to make it look more aggressive and premium, with mild-hybrid power. The luxurious Audi is also more versatile in terms of seating configurations. Buyers can choose from a five-seat version, a six-seat model with second-row captain's chairs, or a traditional seven-seat configuration. Currently, there is no official confirmation on when Audi will launch the new Q7 in India. However, we anticipate to hit our shores soon following its global market launch.
Audi Q7: What's New?
While the SUV has kept its proportions intact, it now looks more muscular and bold. The single-frame grille has become wide. Audi has added its advanced Digital Matrix LED headlights. They
can independently control their light distribution by dimming specific sections of the beam. This reduces glare for oncoming vehicles while maintaining optimal visibility for the driver. The signature four-ring logo now sits higher on the nose, while the side gets pronounced wheel arches, a rising shoulder line, and a more upright D-pillar. At the rear, the SUV sports a full-width light bar and third-generation digital OLED taillights. Buyers can choose from up to eight digital light signatures, which makes room for greater personalisation.
The interior continues to prioritise practicality and luxury. It features a triple-screen layout comprising a digital instrument cluster, central infotainment touchscreen and a dedicated passenger display. The dashboard is finished with premium wood and leather trims. The centre console has been redesigned to house dual wireless charging pads, drive mode controls, and a host of shortcut functions. Audi has also equipped the SUV with ambient lighting, illuminated front-seat headrests, a panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency, electrically adjustable seats, connected car technology, and a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system with integrated headrest speakers.
The Q7's practicality has been upgraded with multiple seating configurations. The luxury SUV is offered with five seats as standard, while six- and seven-seat layouts are available as options. In five- and seven-seat trims, the second-row bench can accommodate three child seats side by side and slides electrically. They have a 35:30:35 split-folding function. The automaker's comfort-entry system allows easy access to the third row even when child seats are installed. Depending on the seating configuration, the SUV's boot space ranges from up to 722 litres in the seven-seater to 806 litres in the five-seater. This expands to 1,980 litres and 2,075 litres respectively with the rear seats folded. Front-seat ventilation and massage functions are also available on select variants.
The new Audi Q7 gets a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine in two states of tune, delivering up to 295hp and 630Nm. The unit comes paired with Audi's new MHEV Plus mild-hybrid technology, which provides an additional 24hp of boost. It features an electric-powered compressor for quicker throttle response and seamless acceleration.
