Kia has officially unveiled the all-new Seltos, a brand-new generation of the popular midsize SUV that now looks bolder, wider and more premium than ever before. This updated model is not just a small facelift, it is a complete redesign aimed at giving buyers a stronger road presence, smarter technology and a much more luxurious cabin experience.
Bookings for the next-gen Seltos open tonight at a token amount of Rs 25,000, and prices will be announced on January 2, 2026. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-January 2026, making this one of the most anticipated SUV launches of the coming year.
On the outside, the new Seltos carries forward its familiar shape, but everything now looks sharper and more muscular. The SUV gets a wider stance and more sculpted
proportions, along with Kia’s latest Digital Tiger Face grille that is finished in high-gloss black on higher variants. The front is highlighted by new Ice Cube LED projection headlamps and Star Map LED DRLs that flow smoothly into the LED tail lamps at the rear.
The SUV feels tougher thanks to satin-silver or gunmetal skid plates, depending on the variant. Higher trims also get gloss-black bumper finishes, neon brake calipers, and larger 18-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels for a sporty appeal. Kia has added premium touches like automatic flush-style door handles, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and an integrated rear spoiler with a bright LED stop lamp. Built on the brand’s K3 platform, the new Seltos measures 4,460mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,690mm, which helps increase its cabin space.
Inside the cabin, the Seltos has undergone a complete transformation. The extended wheelbase and redesigned seats create a more spacious and airy feel. Kia has introduced multiple interior colour themes to give each variant its own personality. The Smoky Black and Hunter Green themes on the X-Line variants offer a bold and rugged look, while the Brown and Grey finish in the HTX range gives a warm, family-friendly vibe.
Meanwhile, the GTX models come with a stylish Black-and-White dual-tone interior that feels clean and modern. The biggest highlight inside is the Trinity Panoramic Display Panel, a long single-piece screen that houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen. The SUV further enhances comfort with features like a 10-way powered driver seat with memory, lumbar support adjustment, relaxing seat mode, ventilated seats, a dual-tone leather-wrapped D-cut steering wheel and 64-colour ambient lighting. Practicality has also been improved with a large 447-litre boot, multiple charging ports, flexible rear seats with a 60:40 split, and rear AC vents.
Kia has equipped the new Seltos with a long list of modern features to make everyday driving easier. The updated Kia Connect 2.0 system supports remote operations and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Select variants also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system.
A 360-degree camera with blind-view monitor, side and rear parking sensors, wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control with a dedicated 5-inch touchscreen, proximity keyless entry and power-folding mirrors further enhance convenience. The dual-pane panoramic sunroof and the illuminated interior elements add to the SUV’s premium feel.
In terms of powertrains, the all-new Kia Seltos continues to offer three engines to suit different types of drivers. The 1.5-litre Smartstream petrol engine produces 115bhp and 144Nm of torque, ideal for smooth city driving and everyday use.
The more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 160bhp and 253Nm, making it a good choice for buyers who want quick acceleration and a sporty drive. Diesel lovers can opt for the 1.5-litre CRDi engine that delivers 116bhp and 250Nm, suitable for long-distance travel and high mileage needs. Depending on the engine, customers can choose from manual, CVT, 6iMT, 7DCT or 6AT automatic transmissions. All variants get front and rear disc brakes and a fuel tank capacity between 47 and 50 litres.
Overall, the next-generation Kia Seltos aims to set new benchmarks in design, technology and comfort in the midsize SUV segment. With its bold looks, feature-rich cabin and flexible engine options, it is expected to attract both existing Seltos fans and new buyers looking for a premium, modern and practical SUV. The excitement around its launch suggests that the new Seltos is ready to become one of India’s most popular SUVs once again.
