In 2025, Maruti Suzuki not only strengthened its position in India but also made India proud on the global stage by continuing as India’s No. 1 passenger vehicle (PV) exporter for the fifth consecutive year.
According to the company, Maruti Suzuki exported 3.95 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025, which is its highest-ever export figure in a single year. This also marks a strong growth of over 21 percent compared to 2024, highlighting the rising global demand for Indian-made cars. These exports have helped Maruti Suzuki retain its top position among Indian passenger vehicle exporters, a title it has now held continuously for five years.

Maruti Suzuki exported 18 different models to more than 100 countries in 2025. These markets include regions in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and now Europe again.
One of the biggest highlights of the year was Maruti Suzuki’s re-entry into Europe, a highly competitive and regulation-heavy market. This became possible with the export of the company’s first electric vehicle, the e VITARA.
Exports of the electric SUV began in August 2025 from Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, after the model was officially flagged off by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Since then, over 13,000 units of the e VITARA have already been exported to 29 countries, with Europe being the main destination.
This step is important because Europe is known for strict emission and safety norms. Maruti Suzuki’s entry with an electric vehicle shows India’s growing capability in building future-ready and environmentally friendly cars.
Commenting on the achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said that this record-breaking export performance reflects India’s manufacturing strength and the trust customers across the world place in Indian-made vehicles. He also highlighted that achieving 21 percent export growth at a time when global trade is facing uncertainty is a meaningful contribution to India’s export momentum.
Maruti Suzuki’s success aligns closely with the government’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’, where products are designed and manufactured in India but serve global customers. As the company moves into 2026, its growing export footprint, expanding electric vehicle portfolio, and strong manufacturing base are expected to further strengthen India’s position as a global automotive hub.
