Mahindra & Mahindra is increasing prices across its ICE SUV lineup by up to 2.5%, and that includes popular models like the Mahindra Thar, Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO and Scorpio-N. For buyers, this matters immediately because even a small hike can push on-road prices up by a noticeable margin. But there’s a twist. The Mahindra XUV 7XO hasn’t been included in this revision, at least for now. That creates an unusual situation where one part of the lineup becomes more expensive, while another stays exactly where it is. Apart from these, the prices for the commercial vehicles has also gone up.
The Price Hike Is Small, But It Adds Up
The price increase from Mahindra may sound modest at up to 2.5%, but in real terms, it can translate into a meaningful jump depending on the variant. Higher trims,
in particular, are likely to feel the impact more.
Mahindra has attributed the hike to rising input costs, something we’ve been seeing across the industry. Most manufacturers have already made similar moves this year, so this isn’t unexpected.
Still, for buyers planning a purchase, timing becomes important. A booking made before the hike kicks in could mean a small but real saving.
Why XUV 7XO Has Been Kept Out
The more interesting part is what Mahindra hasn’t touched. The XUV 7XO remains unaffected, and that’s unlikely to be random. The compact SUV space is one of the most competitive segments right now. Pricing plays a big role in how these cars are positioned and even a slight increase can shift buyer interest.
By keeping the XUV 7XO unchanged, Mahindra is holding its ground where competition is the strongest while adjusting prices in segments where demand is already established.

What Buyers Should Think About Now
If you’re considering a Thar or Scorpio-N, it might make sense to act sooner rather than later. Prices are going up and demand for these models hasn’t really slowed down.
On the other hand, the XUV 7XO now stands out more than before. With no price change, it becomes a relatively stronger value option in the short term. The broader takeaway is simple. Price hikes are becoming routine, but how brands apply them across their lineup can reveal where they see the most competition and opportunity.
