Electric cars are slowly becoming a common sight on Indian roads, and carmakers are trying to make them more affordable and practical. One such option is the Citroen e C3, a compact electric hatchback designed mainly for daily city use.
What Is The Citroen e C3?
The e C3 is Citroen’s entry-level electric car in India. It is based on a hatchback design but offers a slightly taller stance, giving it a mini-SUV feel. It is built for city driving, where short trips, traffic, and stop-and-go conditions are common.
Battery, Range And Performance
The e C3 comes with a 29.2 kWh battery pack. It offers a claimed range of around 320 km (MIDC). In real-world conditions, this usually comes down to around 200–220 km, which is still enough for daily use. The electric
motor produces 57 PS power and 143 Nm torque, which means smooth and silent driving, quick acceleration at low speeds and easy handling in traffic. The car can go from 0 to 60 km/h in just 6.8 seconds, making it quite responsive in city conditions.
Charging
Charging is an important part of owning an electric car and the e C3 supports DC fast charging which charges 10% to 80% in about 57 minutes and full charge in around 10.5 hours using a regular socket also known as home charger. This means you can charge it overnight at home or quickly top up at a fast charger.
Features And Interior
The e C3 focuses on simple and practical features as it offers 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument display and 4-speaker audio system. It also includes connected features through the MyCitroën app, which helps track charging and vehicle data. Other convenience features include manual AC, adjustable driver seat, and electric mirrors.

Space And Comfort
One of the strengths of the e C3 is comfort. It offers 315-litre boot space, high ground clearance of 170 mm and comfortable seats with a soft suspension setup. Citroen is known for its ride comfort, and the e C3 continues that tradition, especially on rough roads.
Safety And Limitations
On the safety side, the car gets dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and rear parking sensors. However, it has received a 0-star rating in Global NCAP, which may be a concern for some buyers.
Variants
The e C3 is available in multiple variants like Live, Feel, and Shine, with prices starting around the budget EV range in India. Each variant offers different levels of features, allowing buyers to choose based on their needs.
The Citroen e C3 is not about high performance or luxury, instead, it focuses on affordability, comfort and simplicity. If you want an easy-to-use electric car for daily city travel, the e C3 is a sensible option, but safety is something you should consider before making a final decision.
