VinFast has unveiled its most advanced and unusual vehicle yet: the Lạc Hồng 900 LX, an all-electric luxury SUV capable of surviving extreme ballistic attacks. Developed in partnership with Canadian armoured
vehicle specialist INKAS, the SUV was recently tested against 400 rounds of laser-guided gunfire, emerging intact.
Based on the VinFast VF9, the Lạc Hồng 900 LX is a stretched and heavily modified version designed specifically for high-profile clients such as government officials and corporate executives. The exterior features a revised grille and gold-plated accents, while the interior is fitted with Nappa leather upholstery, real wood trim, and a privacy partition with sliding glass. Despite its armoured construction, the SUV retains a premium design focus.

The SUV meets German VPAM VR7 certification, which requires protection against armour-piercing rifle rounds and grenade blasts. INKAS says the vehicle can withstand the detonation of two DM51 hand grenades at once. In ballistic testing, it absorbed more than 400 rounds without compromise.

Power comes from a 123 kWh CATL-sourced battery paired with dual electric motors. While the standard VF9 produces 402 hp, the armoured model has been tuned to 455 hp to compensate for its extra mass. Even so, the added weight affects acceleration, with the Lạc Hồng 900 LX needing 9.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h. Range figures have not been disclosed, but they are expected to be lower than the VF9 due to the reinforced body. Though VinFast has just entered India, the brand has gained momentum in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian markets.
