Tired of repeated market runs just because your scooter lacks space? The electric 2W market has some excellent options that cater to maximum storage needs. One such scooter is the River Indie, which, with its class-leading 55 litres of storage, can fit everything from groceries to helmets and bags. Many people only focus on range, charging time and performance when buying an electric scooter. However, it is practicality that also plays a key role. Called the 'SUV of scooters' by the Bengaluru-based EV maker, the Indie serves as an ultimate partner for practicality with a capable electric powertrain. Here's a closer look at it and some of its key features.
River Indie Storage
The storage is a key factor that sets the River Indie apart. It offers a total of 55 litres
of lockable storage, including an under-seat compartment of 43 litres and a front glove box with 12 litres of storage. River claims the under-seat storage is large enough to accommodate a full-face helmet along with additional bags, while the glove box can store smaller daily essentials. Whether it's a week's worth of groceries, office bags, gym gear, or shopping purchases, the Indie can carry far more than a typical scooter.
River Indie Design
The River Indie is rugged and boxy. The styling, with a wide floorboard, shows its utility-focused stance. The upright riding position adds to comfort. The EV gets twin LED headlamps, integrated crash guards, and large 14-inch wheels. The all-new steel chassis helps absorb road vibrations, giving the riders a noticeably smoother and more comfortable experience. The scooter offers five colour options, including Monsoon Blue, Summer Red, Spring Yellow, Storm Grey, and Winter White.
River Indie Battery And Range
The electrified Indie runs on a 4kWh battery that is mated to a mid-mounted electric motor (9bhp). The claimed IDC-certified range is up to 16o kilometres on a single charge. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 5 hours using the 750W fast charger, or 8 hours via the standard 480W unit. When hitting the open road, the Indie accelerates from 0 to 40km/h in 3.7 seconds and attains a top speed of 90km/h. Indie offers multiple riding modes, allowing riders to prioritise either performance or efficiency depending on their requirements.
