Citroen India has quietly made two important moves that could matter a lot to first-time car buyers and families looking for practical options. As part of its evolving Citroen 2.0 strategy, the brand has introduced
two new made-to-order variants, the Citroen Aircross X Max 5-seater and the Citroen C3 Live (O). Both focus on addressing customer feedback rather than simply adding more variants to the showroom floor.
"Made-to-order” simply means the car is built only after a confirmed booking is placed. Citroen says this approach helps reduce waiting confusion, avoids unnecessary stock at dealerships, and ensures buyers get exactly what they asked for.Starting with the bigger update, the Citroen Aircross X, previously known as the C3 Aircross, now gets a fully loaded 5-seat option in the top-spec Max trim, priced from Rs 12.41 lakh (ex-showroom). This move brings back a layout that many buyers had been asking for. When the model was first launched in India, a two-row seating configuration was available, but it was later dropped as the line-up evolved.
The new Aircross X Max 5-seater will be produced only against confirmed bookings and is powered by the same 108 bhp turbo-petrol engine offered in the 7-seat Max variants. For buyers who don’t need a third row and prefer more space and comfort for five occupants, this variant makes practical sense.
The second launch is aimed squarely at budget-conscious and first-time buyers. The Citroen C3 Live (O) is priced at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and sits just above the base Live trim. For a premium of around Rs 54,000, it brings in several features that were earlier reserved for higher variants or not offered at all. Also Read: MG Hector Explained for First-Time Car Buyers - Features, Pricing, Mileage and How It Compares
The C3 Live (O) gets a new 10.1-inch Android touchscreen with smartphone connectivity (top variants get a slightly larger 10.25-inch unit), built-in speakers, a reverse camera, leatherette seat covers, fog lamps, and body side and wheel arch moulding with chrome inserts. It also includes wheel covers that were previously available only on the higher Feel trim.
With these launches, Citroen appears to be listening closely to Indian buyers—offering fewer but more relevant choices. For new car buyers, this means clearer decisions, better value, and cars that feel purpose-built rather than over-complicated.
