Nissan will officially unveil the all-new Nissan Gravite in India on February 17, 2026. For people who want seven seats without stretching their budget, this could be one of the most important launches of the year.
The Gravite is Nissan’s answer to the growing demand for compact, practical seven-seaters as it will enter the sub-4-metre MPV segment, which is a category that is especially popular in India because cars under four metres attract lower taxes, which will help brands keep prices competitive. The Gravite name has already been confirmed and the vehicle will be built in India. It will be based on the same CMF-A platform. While the Gravite will share its base with the Triber, Nissan promises different styling. Expect a redesigned front grille, different headlamps, fresh bumpers and Nissan-specific badging to give it its own identity.
Expected Price
The Nissan Gravite might have a starting ex-showroom price of around Rs 7 lakh. Fully loaded versions could touch Rs 12-15 lakh. If this pricing holds true to the expectation, the Gravite will
sit comfortably between entry-level hatchbacks and larger MPVs.
Engine and Performance
While Nissan has not officially confirmed engine details yet, the Gravite is expected to use the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine found in the Triber. This motor produces around 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. That may not sound dramatic, but for city driving and regular family duties, it is adequate and fuel-efficient.

Consumers can expect a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission). We also expect a turbo-petrol option in the future, which would significantly improve performance.
Features
The Gravite is likely to offer an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, LED instrument display and AC vents for all three rows. Modular seating, which is a highlight of the Triber should continue here.
Rivals and Positioning
The Gravite will compete with the Renault Triber, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens. While the Ertiga and Carens are larger and more powerful, the Gravite’s sub-4-metre will help this MPV stay more affordable.
