Honda has finally stepped into the electric bike space with its first EV motorcycle, the WN7. Currently aimed at Europe, the WN7 is built for city commuting, offering a range of over 130 km on a single charge. You can charge it at home in under three hours, or use a CCS2 fast charger to go from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes. In Europe, it’s priced at £12,999 (around Rs 19.5 lakh), which is much higher than most electric motorcycles sold in India today.
Honda has kept the bike familiar, with a chain drive and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. There’s a 5-inch colour TFT display, Honda RoadSync app support for smartphone connectivity, and a roomy 20-litre underseat storage compartment. It also comes with a sound-emitting system to alert pedestrians,
as required for EVs in Europe.
The WN7 is aimed at younger, urban riders who want a quiet, easy-to-handle bike. But Honda hasn’t shared key specs like top speed, motor power, or battery capacity yet, so it’s hard to tell how it stacks up against other electric bikes in real life.

For India, the WN7 is more of a signal of Honda’s EV plans than an immediate option. Local brands like Revolt, Ultraviolette, and Ola Electric already offer similar or better specs at much lower prices. If Honda plans to launch here, it will need a competitive approach to make it appealing. Still, the WN7 marks an important step for Honda globally.
