Spy shots of the Honda 0 Alpha's cabin have surfaced online, giving the first real look at what India's upcoming electric SUV will offer inside. That matters because the 0 Alpha is shaping up to rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Sierra EV and Honda has gone with a layout that looks nothing like any of its current India lineup.
What Does the Cabin Look Like?
The dashboard is dominated by a massive touchscreen mounted on top, sitting noticeably larger than the digital driver's display positioned just to its right, a layout that prioritises the central screen over a traditional instrument cluster. Ahead of that smaller display is a three-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddleshifters, which on an EV would typically control regenerative braking
strength rather than gear changes.
Despite the large touchscreen, Honda hasn't gone fully button-free, the centre console still carries a cluster of physical controls, likely for climate functions and ventilated seats. The dashboard also has a scooped, sculpted design rather than a flat panel, though it's worth flagging this is still a test mule, so Honda could tweak details before the car actually goes into production.
How Does the Exterior Compare?
Honda began testing the 0 Alpha in India back in March 2026 and the production SUV is expected to closely follow the concept version Honda revealed in 2025. That means boxy proportions, a rectangular grille housing the headlights, chunky bumpers, slim vertical tail-lamps, and a near-vertical tailgate, a styling direction that's a clear break from the rounded, conservative look of Honda's current City, Elevate, and Amaze. Battery details haven't been confirmed yet, though reports suggest Honda will use CATL battery cells sourced from Indonesia for its India-bound EVs.
When Will It Launch in India?
A launch is expected in early 2027, which gives Honda time to finalise the cabin layout based on feedback from this testing phase, so what eventually reaches showrooms could differ in small ways from what's been spotted so far.
