The Sierra SUV is all set to come in an electric avatar soon. While Tata Motors has not officially confirmed the launch timeline yet, the Sierra EV is expected to go on sale in India during the second quarter of the year (April–June). The electric SUV was first teased alongside its ICE counterpart, which has already made its debut. It is likely to sit between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in Tata's electric portfolio. The Sierra EV has already generated strong interest among SUV buyers. From its futuristic, straightforward design to its premium cabin and anticipated long-range battery pack, here’s everything you can expect from the upcoming electric SUV from Tata.
Tata Sierra EV Design
The Tata Sierra will have the same boxy stance like its ICE counterpart, along
with signature upright stance and large glasshouse area. However, it will bear a few unique EV-specific elements that will help it to stand out. From the front, the SUV will have a more cleaner and straightforward look, with closed grille, a simple bumper and a body-finished Tata badge. The headlamps will be relocated to the bumper, instead of being integrated to the grille on the ICE model.
Tata Sierra EV Features
While Tata will keep the same dashboard layout in the EV version, the upcoming Sierra could distinguish itself with new upholstery options and trim finishes. It will likely feature a large floating touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s and a panoramic sunroof. Other expected features include dual-zone climate control, powered seats, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a premium sound system, and ambient lighting. The Sierra EV is also likely to get Level-2 ADAS, with functions such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane assist. It is anticipated have standard safety features such as ESC, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Tata Sierra EV Powertrain And Range
The Sierra EV is expected to be based on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. It could come with more than one battery pack to target buyers looking for buying EV for everyday city use and long-distance travelling. Currently, the powertrain specifications are not available, but the Sierra EV will likely to offer a claimed driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. Fast-charging support is also expected. The electrified SUV is also likely to provide both single-motor and dual-motor configurations depending on the variant lineup. The higher variants could get an AWD setup.

Tata Sierra EV Market Positioning and Price
The Sierra EV will reportedly serve as a premium midsize electric SUV option in the brand's electric range. It will target urban buyers who want rugged design, commanding stance and practicality of an EV into one package. Tata may also use the Sierra EV as a flagship lifestyle-oriented electric SUV before introducing more premium EVs in India. In terms of price, the EV will carry a notable premium over its ICE Sierra (Rs 11.49 lakh), and start somewhere around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
