Engine and Performance
The Tata Safari Smart is powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, which is known for its strong pulling power. It produces around 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque, making it suitable for city driving, highways, and even hill roads. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and sends power to the front wheels. Even though it is a large SUV, Tata claims a mileage of around 16.3 kmpl.
Safety
One of the biggest strengths of the Safari Smart variant is safety as Tata has made sure that even the base model does not feel compromised. You get 6 airbags as standard, along with all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD and an Advanced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) that includes 16 safety functions such as hill-hold control and corner stability control. Features like rear parking sensors and strong braking systems add extra confidence behind the wheel.
Features and Comfort
Despite being the base variant, the Safari Smart comes with several useful features as it gets R17 alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs and LED tail lamps, which give it a modern appearance. From the inside, you will get Fully Automatic Temperature Control, rear AC vents for second and third-row passengers and a 17.78 cm digital instrument cluster. The cabin is spacious, offering three rows of seating for seven people.
What’s Missing?
To keep the price competitive, Tata has skipped some premium features, like there is no panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera or large touchscreen infotainment system which is seen in higher variants.
The Tata Safari Smart is one of the perfect options for buyers who want a big, safe and powerful SUV without stretching their budget. It delivers strong performance, excellent safety and good space, which makes it a smart entry point into the Safari lineup.
