Audi has put out the very first teaser of the third-generation Q7. The current-generation Q7 has been based on the same platform/architecture for over 10 years now. During that period, it gained two mid-cycle updates (facelifts). Ending anticipation of car enthusiasts across the globe, Audi has teased the third-gen Q7 ahead of its debut later this summer (June–August). The luxury SUV will be joined by the new and four-ring brand's flagship, the Q9, which is also expected to debut in the coming months. It will sit below the three-row Q9 in the brand's international range. Here is everything you need to know about what to expect in terms of design and features, as well as when the new Q7 might reach Indian shores.
New-gen Audi Q7: What The Teaser Shows?
The teaser image tells very little
about the car's new design. Though you can see the new door mirror, the passenger door with a conventional handle, and an 'S line' badge on the front fender. The current-generation Audi Q7 has been in production since 2015. This makes the SUV one of the longest-running models in the premium segment without a full generational change. Although official information is not available at the moment, the upcoming third-gen Q7 is expected to see some serious changes under the hood, and across the exterior and interior.
New Audi Q7: Design
On the outside, the new Q7 will be familiar enough to retain brand identity, but modern enough to feel like a generational leap. The front could get split-style headlamps, sleeker LED daytime running lights, a restyled octagonal grille, and sculpted air intakes. The traditional door handles will be retained. The rear end could also see noticeable changes in the form of new LED taillamps connected by a full-width horizontal light bar. Overall, the SUV is likely to look more streamlined and have improved aerodynamics. You can also expect the new Q7 to be slightly larger than its predecessor.
The upcoming new-gen of the Q7 could take the premium and tech quotient to another level with a three-screen setup, including an instrument display, a large central touchscreen, and a front passenger screen. Other highlights may include OLED taillamps with programmable signatures and customisable ambient lighting. In terms of safety, the new Q7 should offer an updated suite of Audi Pre Sense active safety features.
New-gen Audi Q7: Powertrain
The new Q7 will be based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. While Audi has not confirmed the spec sheet yet, the Q7 variants are expected to come equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid system as standard. A 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine is expected to anchor the mainstream Q7 range. For performance buyers, a revised 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 could also be on the package. A full plug-in hybrid variant is also said to be in the pipeline, though its launch is expected at a later stage.

New-gen Audi Q7: India Launch Expected in 2027
You will be expected to wait for the new Q7 by 2027. Audi India has consistently brought new global models to the country within 12 to 18 months of their international reveal. The new Q7 will not be any different from this pattern. A launch in the first half of 2027 is expected, though Audi India has yet to make any announcement.
