Honda Cars India will introduce the ZR-V hybrid SUV alongside the City Facelift on May 22, 2026. The SUV will be its premium offering in the SUV category. It is expected arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which means it could be sold in limited numbers or through batch allocations depending on demand and import availability. The hybrid SUV is already available in different international markets, including Japan, Europe and select ASEAN countries. In India, the Honda hybrid SUV will be positioned as a sophisticated urban model, which will target high-end buyers looking for refinement, modern technology and high efficiency. ZR-V is offered with the automaker's e:HEV strong-hybrid system. There's no confirmation as of now, the India-spec model is expected to employ the similar setup, comprising a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with dual electric motors (181hp/315Nm). The hybrid unit is said to provide seamless acceleration and smooth driving across busy city streets, particularly in EV mode at lower speeds. The car will feature an e-CVT transmission.

The upcoming hybrid model from Honda looks different from a traditional mid-size SUV. The stance is crossover-type, and the overall appearance is very sporty. Given the ZR-V will most likely be a CBU model, Honda could price it somewhere between the range of Rs 35 lakh to Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). The company may initially offer the model in limited quantities to gauge customer response before considering any future localisation plans.
