HPCL Presents Times Drive Auto Summit & Awards 2026 concluded on May 5, 2026, in New Delhi, bringing together key stakeholders across the automotive sector under the theme ‘India’s Mobility Mission 2030: Clean Tech, Smart Manufacturing, Global Vision’. The event recognised products based on performance, innovation and real-world relevance for Indian users. In the two-wheeler category, the TVS Apache RTX was named Motorcycle of the Year. The model stands out as a new platform from TVS, designed to combine mid-capacity performance with touring-oriented capability for Indian riding conditions.
Engine, Platform And Performance
The TVS bike is available in three variants: Base, Top and BTO (Built-To-Order). The ex-showroom price starts at Rs 1.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.34 lakh.
The Apache RTX is powered by a 299cc liquid-cooled engine, producing 35.5 hp and 28.5 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It uses ride-by-wire technology which enables multiple riding modes that adjust throttle response depending on conditions.
From a rider’s perspective, this matters in everyday scenarios. City riding can be smoother with controlled throttle inputs, while highway riding benefits from sharper response. The inclusion of a slipper clutch helps manage aggressive downshifts, while traction control adds a layer of stability, especially on uneven or low-grip surfaces.
Hardware, Features And Riding Setup
The motorcycle is built on a trellis frame aimed at balancing strength and weight. It uses upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock setup, paired with disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS.
It also gets a TFT display with connectivity features, including navigation and ride data. Full LED lighting is standard. What stands out here is how these features are now moving into the mid-capacity segment, where buyers expect more than just basic instrumentation.
Buyer Relevance And Segment Context
The recognition at the Times Drive Auto Summit & Awards 2026 points to a broader trend in the Indian motorcycle market. Buyers are increasingly looking for motorcycles that can handle multiple use cases rather than being limited to commuting.
The Apache RTX fits into this shift by offering a mix of performance, touring capability and electronic aids. For buyers, this means a single motorcycle that can handle daily rides as well as longer journeys, without requiring compromises on features or control systems.
The event featured HPCL as the presenting partner, backed by Yes Securities and Garware as Associate Partners, Corporate Warranties India as Official Warranty Partner, Trev Mobility as Mobility Partner, and Heights Outdoor as Outdoor Partner.
