Following the BMW M440i Convertible, the German marque is planning to relaunch the BMW X6 in India. The coupe-SUV, which was discontinued in 2023, will make its comeback with a sharper design and a more feature-rich package. Before being delisted, the X6 was offered only with a petrol engine, and priced between Rs 1.04 crore and Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom). Now, with the addition of mild-hybrid system, the new-generation model is expected to fetch a considerable premium over its predecessor. The BMW M6 will reportedly arrive in India in M60i xDrive version. Once launched, it will compete against some of the premium models in the segment, including the Porsche Cayenne, the Mercedes-AMG GLE, and the Audi SQ8. BMW X6: Design
The BMW X6 retains its coupe-like profile while introducing sharper elements at the front for a more aggressive appeal. The headlights are sleeker than before and arrow-shaped daytime running lights also acts as turn indicators. The gloss-black front bumper has a chiselled design, and it features prominent air intakes. The new X6 rides on large 21-inch alloys, and comes with slender taillamps, and a sporty bumper at the rear, and dual exhaust tips at the rear.
Dimensionally, the X6, in its M60i xDrive version, measures 4,960mm in length, 2,004mm in width, and 1,700mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,975mm. The ground clearance stands at 216mm, while the boot capacity is 580 litres.
BMW X6: Interior and Features
From the inside, the X6 looks sporty and practical. It can be had in multiple dual-tone colour schemes. The most notable highlight is the curved dual-screen setup that comprises a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s unit.
Other key amenities include driver’s seat with a memory function, powered front seats with ventilation and heating capabilities, a 3-spoke steering wheel with physical controls, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless phone charger.

The model also comes an extensive suite of ADAS. While BMW hasn't confirmed the specs of the India-spec X6, the aforementioned features are likely to be carried forward. More details are expected to be revealed closer to the launch date.
BMW X6: Engine
Mechanically, the India-bound X6, in its M60i xDrive version, is expected to feature a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine mated to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This setup generates 523hp and 750Nm, and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to all four wheels. The Coupe SUV can do 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h.
