The good news for prospective buyers of the Harrier petrol is the fact that all 14 variants will have the 6-speed manual transmission option, while the automatic will be available in 13 variants, with only the base
Smart variant excluded. Additionally, the Harrier petrol will be available in the #DARK and Red #DARK editions from the first booking day itself but the STEALTH Edition does not get the petrol powertrain just yet.
Out of the 14 variants on offer for the Harrier petrol, 11 are the standard variant lineup that the diesel currently gets and Tata has added two new top-end variants called the Fearless Ultra and the Fearless Ultra Red #DARK. Overall, the Harrier petrol variant lineup now consists of the base Smart variant and progresses with Pure X, Pure X #DARK, Adventure X, Adventure X #DARK, Adventure X+, Adventure X+ #DARK, Fearless X, Fearless X+, Fearless X+ #DARK and the two-new top variants mentioned earlier. In terms of what's new in the Fearless Ultra variants, we expect them to exclusively feature the 14.5-inch Samsung QLED infotainment touchscreen and the 10-speaker JBL Audio suystem with DOLBY Atmos sound signature that we have earlier seen in the Harrier.ev.
The new Harrier petrol is being powered by Tata Motors' all-new Hyperion, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. It produces 167 hp and 280 Nm of torque and had recently debuted with the new Sierra SUV. While Tata is yet to announce the Harrier petrol's official price list, you can expect the SUV to be Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000 cheaper than its diesel counterpart and have a ballpark starting price of around Rs 13 lakh. Tata Motors is expected to start booking and announce the prices on January 5, 2026.
