segment, they come in at different price points and offer distinct value propositions. Tata Sierra Vs Hyundai Creta: Price
The 2025 Tata Sierra has been launched at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This introductory figure is for the base petrol variant, with the full price list for higher trims scheduled to be revealed in early December. Tata is expected to price the mid and top trims significantly higher, especially the diesel and automatic variants. Positioned above the Curvv in Tata’s ICE lineup, the Sierra enters the highly competitive midsize SUV segment, directly targeting the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Hyryder, Elevate and Taigun. The premium design, larger cabin layout and broader powertrain range are expected to push its top-end prices closer to the upper bracket of the segment.
Coming to the Hyundai Creta SUV, it currently retails from Rs 10.73 lakh for the base-spec variant to around Rs 20.20 lakh for the top-of-the line version. Both prices are ex-showroom. Basically, the price varies depending on factors such as engine option, transmission choice, as well as features.
Tata Sierra Vs Hyundai Creta: Engine Options
The Tata Sierra has arrived on the market with three engine options. There is a newly developed 1.5-litre Hyperion T-GDi turbo-petrol unit (158 bhp/255 Nm) coupled with a torque-converter automatic, a 1.5-litre Revotron naturally aspirated petrol unit (105 bhp/145 Nm), offered with both manual and DCA automatics. However, If you wish to opt for the diesel option, there is a 1.5-litre Kryojet unit (116 bhp/260 Nm), which can be paired with either a manual or a torque-converter automatic transmission.
The Creta also comes with multiple powertrain options, including 1.5-litre NA petrol (113 bhp/144 Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo petrol (158 bhp/253 Nm), as well as a 1.5-litre diesel unit (114 bhp/250 Nm). The available transmission options are 6-speed MT, CVT, 7-speed DCT, and 6-speed AT.
