Tekton comes from the Greek word for “craftsman” or “architect.” It speaks to Nissan’s value of precise engineering and elegant design. The launch of this SUV represents the beginning of a new chapter in Nissan’s long-term India plan with more than just an immediate future seven-seater MPV on the cards.
Nissan Tekton SUV: Bold Styling
The Tekton SUV brings to light Nissan's new design philosophy with ruggedness fused with modern looks. It carries a flatter nose, a wider V-motion grille, and C-shaped LED headlamps connected by a thin gloss black strip. The squared-off stance, sculpted bonnet, and strong shoulder lines lend the Nissan offering a confident SUV posture. The design draws heavy inspiration from the Nissan Patrol, evident in its upright proportions and robust detailing.
Nissan Tekton SUV: Built On CMF-B Platform
The Tekton sits upon Renault’s CMF-B platform, which was co-developed under the Renault-Nissan alliance. This architecture will also underpin the upcoming, next-generation Duster, hence it shares all the important mechanical bits and underpinnings, as well as some structural elements with the popular Renault SUV. The said platform has been engineered to offer good ride quality and safety compliance while being ready for future electrification.
Nissan Tekton SUV: Powertrain Options
Nissan will most likely offer the Tekton in petrol and hybrid powertrain options. The probable mill choices include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine option, coupled with manual as well as CVT gearboxes. The hybrid variant may solely be available with top trims.

Nissan Tekton SUV: India Launch Next Year
The Tekton will arrive on the Indian market between April and June 2026, which falls in Q1 FY2027. Consequently, this model will be placed above the Magnite, taking Nissan’s SUV lineup to an all new high. Production is going to take place out of the Chennai plant, with India acting as both a domestic and export hub under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” strategy.
