Honda has filed a design patent for the Honda WN7 electric motorcycle in India. The bike was first showcased to the world at EICMA last year. It is based on the futuristic Honda EV Fun concept. Although the patent filing does not confirm the launch of the bike in the country, it suggests that the 2W brand might be evaluating the model for the domestic market to enter premium EV segment, which is currently dominated by bikes such as the Ola Roadster, and the Ultraviolette F77. Currently, Honda's EV portfolio is limited to scooters such as the Activa e: and QC1. If introduced, the WN7 would be the automaker's first premium electric bike in India. Here’s a detailed look at its design, expected performance, and other key highlights.
Honda WN7 Electric Bike Design
The Honda WN7
has a sharp, and modern-age design that separates it from conventional petrol-based counterparts. The bodywork is sleek, and the overall styling has aggressive and bold stance. The streetfighter-inspired styling is reflected in the sculpted panels, which makes the electric bike look beefy. The all-LED lighting setup improves visibility and efficiency and adds a modern touch to the EV. One of the most interesting aspects of the WN7 is its unique construction. The Honda electric bike has centrally mounted aluminium battery pack as its core in place of a traditional frame. Honda has integrated the steering head and rear swingarm directly with the battery unit, and this has reduced unnecessary mass, making the EV more compact an agile.
Honda WN7 Electric Bike Features and Hardware
Honda has equipped its premium electric motorcycle with modern rider-focused technology. Key features include IMU-assisted cornering ABS system, four riding modes (Standard, Sport, Rain, and Econ), a 5-inch TFT display, adjustable regenerative braking levels, Selectable Speed Limit Assist, and Forward/Reverse Walking Speed Mode. Hardware-wise, the bike comes with a 43mm Showa USD fork, and a rear monoshock. It features Nissin dual-piston callipers with 296mm front discs and a mono-piston calliper with a 256mm rear disc for braking.

Honda WN7 Electric Bike Battery, Charging
At its heart, the WN7 has a liquid-cooled electric motor. The range-topping model produces 50 kW of power. The fixed 9.3kWh battery pack is said to provide up to 140 kilometres of range, while a lower-output 11 kW version can travel up to 153 kilometres on a full charge. Charging options include both regular Type 2 as well as CCS2 fast charging support, where the latter can replenish the battery from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes. In its top-spec avatar, the Honda can reach a top speed of 129km/h.
