Bentley has been making headlines recently as the first-ever battery electric SUV from the luxury carmaker inches closer to its final reveal in 2026. However, a far more important announcement has now been made for long-time fans of Bentley cars. We are talking about the very rare, non-hybridised, rear-wheel-drive Bentley Supersports that has returned with a limited production number.

The Bentley Supersports is an iconic model line, which is only returning for the fourth time since it first appeared a century ago. The GT car marks 100 years of the original Super Sports, which was the first Bentley to cross the 100 mph or 160 kmph mark. The latest iteration is based on the Continental
GT and has undergone several updates and changes to honour its predecessor.
The new Bentley Supersports is the first to bring rear-wheel-drive and a sub two-tonne weight iteration to the Continental GT line. It will be powered by a non-hybridised, 4.0-litre, twin-turbo, V8 engine that produces 666 PS (656 hp) and 800 Nm of unadulterated internal combustion performance. The Supersports further gets custom aerodynamic modifications and lower set sports seats. Bentley claims that it will strictly make only 500 units of the Supersports.
The Supersports further gets Manthey Racing 22-inch lightweight forged wheels, a full-length Akrapovic titanium exhaust and Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres. The vehicle also comes with a front splitter which is the biggest that Bentley has ever used on a road car, other aero elements include carbon fibre dive panels, side sills, fender blades and a rear diffuser. Combined with the fixed rear wing, the Supersports generates over 300 kg more downforce than a Continental GT. Further weight savings are gained by the carbon fibre roof that adds structural stiffness and better centre of gravity.
All that weight savings and hi-tech construction has led to the latest Supersports becoming the lightest Bentley in 85 years at under 2,000 kg. The car will be unveiled to the world in Dubai in January 2026 and orders will open later in March. First deliveries of the Bentley Supersports are expected to begin in early 2027.
