Honda Delists CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP And Rebel 500 From India Website - Here Is Why

Just months after launching the mighty CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP and the laid-back Rebel 500 in India, Honda has quietly taken both models off its official website. While that might sound alarming, there’s likely a pretty simple reason behind it.

The Fireblade SP, Honda’s flagship supersport, made its re-entry into the Indian market earlier this year in its most track-focused form yet. Meanwhile, the Rebel 500 marked Honda’s first attempt at officially bringing its middleweight cruiser to Indian buyers. Both motorcycles created quite a buzz when they arrived, but their sudden disappearance from Honda’s website has left many wondering if something went wrong.

Italian Superbike?

Chances are, nothing has. Honda is known to bring in certain high-end models to India in limited numbers, especially those arriving as Completely Built Units (CBUs). The company likely allotted a small batch of both bikes for the first phase, and that batch now seems to have sold out. Once the units are gone, Honda usually pulls the listing from its website until new stock is confirmed. So, rather than being discontinued, these motorcycles are probably just “out of stock” for the time being.

As for the bikes themselves, the Rebel 500 packs a 471cc parallel-twin engine that produces 45.5 hp and 43.3 Nm. It’s built for relaxed cruising with its low-end torque, super-accessible 690 mm seat height, and comfortable ergonomics. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks from Showa, while braking comes via 296 mm and 240 mm discs at the front and rear, respectively.

The Fireblade SP, on the other hand, sits on the opposite end of the spectrum. Its 999cc inline-four engine unleashes a thrilling 214.5 bhp and 113 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. It’s loaded with top-shelf kit, Ohlins electronic suspension, Brembo brakes, and a full suite of electronic rider aids managed through a five-inch TFT display.
