Production of the Kia Seltos has officially begun at Kia India’s manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The start of production marks a key milestone ahead of the model’s price announcement
scheduled for January 2, 2026. The new-generation Seltos represents a major update over the outgoing version and has been developed specifically with Indian market requirements in mind. According to Kia India, the Anantapur plant will serve both domestic demand and export markets, continuing the Seltos’ role as one of the brand’s most important global models.

Production Commences At Kia’s Anantapur Facility
Kia India has commenced series production of the all-new Seltos at its Anantapur plant, which has been operational since 2019. This facility was also responsible for producing the first-generation Seltos when it debuted in India. The plant remains a key part of Kia’s global manufacturing network, supporting large-scale production with advanced automation and quality control processes. With production now underway, Kia aims to ensure quicker deliveries once the new Seltos goes on sale in early 2026.
New Kia Seltos: Platform And Updated Dimensions
The all-new Seltos is based on Kia’s India-first global K3 platform. This new architecture is designed to improve structural rigidity, ride comfort, as well as overall refinement. Dimensionally, the SUV has grown compared to its predecessor. It measures 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, making it one of the longest models in its segment. The longer wheelbase is expected to improve interior space and stability at higher speeds.
New Kia Seltos: Design And Interior Highlights
In terms of design, the new Seltos adopts Kia’s latest 'Opposites United' philosophy. Key exterior elements include a revised front fascia with a new digital lighting signature, updated LED headlamps, and flush-style door handles.
Inside, the highlight is a 30-inch panoramic display that integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. The cabin also features connected car technology, over-the-air updates, and an upgraded infotainment interface aimed at improving usability.

New Kia Seltos: Powertrain Options And Safety Focus
Kia will offer three engine options for the new Seltos: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit (115 bhp, 144 Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol T-GDI unit (160 bhp, 253 Nm) and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel unit (116 bhp, 250 Nm). Transmission options include 6MT, 6iMT, iVT, 7DCT and 6AT, depending on engine and variant opted for.
As far as safety is concerned, the SUV boasts six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-start assist, disc brakes on all wheels, a 360-degree camera, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology with features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and navigation-backed smart cruise control.
