Triumph has expanded its 400cc motorcycle lineup. It has introduced the brand-new Tracker 400 in the UK, while also bringing the Thruxton 400 to the US market. Both motorcycles join the existing 400cc range that includes the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 variants, broadening Triumph’s offerings in the midsize category. The new additions are built around Triumph’s 398cc TR-Series engine, tuned for slightly higher peak power and distinctive character compared with earlier 400cc models. Announced for select global markets, these motorcycles bring distinct flat-track and cafe racer design themes while retaining modern mechanical and safety standards.

Triumph Tracker 400
The Tracker 400 is styled with flat-track influences, combining a stripped-back look with modern mechanicals. It features upright ergonomics, wide handlebars, and a compact seat profile that emphasises a purposeful, road-focused stance. Built for versatility on paved surfaces rather than true dirt tracks, its design includes a sculpted fuel tank and minimal bodywork that aligns with the flat-track aesthetic. This new model uses the updated 398cc single-cylinder engine from the TR-Series, targeting an engaging ride with balanced performance.
Triumph Thruxton 400
The Thruxton 400 brings classic cafe racer elements into the 400cc segment, carrying forward a heritage nameplate with modern touches. It adopts clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, as well as a sculpted tank that give a sportier rider posture compared with Triumph’s other 400cc offerings. The design is cleaner and more performance-oriented, with a short rear section and minimalist lines typical of cafe racer styling. Like the Tracker 400, it runs on the updated TR-Series engine with refined performance characteristics.
Engine And Mechanical Specifications
Both the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 are powered by Triumph’s 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder TR-Series engine, producing around 41.42 hp at 9,000 rpm, a power bump over earlier 400 models thanks to revised tuning. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and includes modern features such as ride-by-wire throttle, ABS, and traction control. Their chassis and suspension setups are tailored for their respective riding styles, with distinct ergonomics and handling dynamics designed to differentiate them from each other and existing models.
Features And Equipment
Standard equipment on both motorcycles includes LED lighting, traction control, ABS, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. While neither model pushes cutting-edge electronic suites, they maintain a balance of traditional motorcycle simplicity with essential modern safety systems. The Tracker 400 leans toward bold, functional styling and confident handling, while the Thruxton 400 emphasises café racer aesthetics with sportier ergonomics.
Global Availability And Market Focus
Triumph has confirmed plans for the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 in global markets, with the Thruxton expected to reach dealerships ahead of the Tracker during early 2026. Pricing details vary by region and will be confirmed closer to local launches.

India Launch Status
While the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 expand Triumph’s global 400cc portfolio, reports suggest they are unlikely to be launched in India in 2026. Overall, these additions underline Triumph’s strategy of broadening its small-capacity range through multiple design formats built around a shared, proven platform.
