Oben Electric has started delivering the Rorr Evo electric bike to customers in Bengaluru after it crossed 25,000 bookings. The model went on sale in May 2026. The Bengaluru-based company now plans to roll deliveries out across its 150-plus showroom network covering over 90 cities. Priced at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the Rorr Evo is positioned in an electric motorcycle segment that remains tiny but is steadily growing as mainstream buyers look beyond scooters. Here's everything you need to know about the battery specs, performance, features and charging details of the EV.
What Explains 25,000 Bookings in 15 Days?
A large part of it comes down to positioning. The Rorr Evo sits in a segment where demand exists but options are genuinely limited. Electric motorcycles account for a small
share of India's EV two-wheeler market despite motorcycles making up roughly 65% of overall two-wheeler sales nationally, so Oben is essentially targeting a gap instead of fighting a crowded field.
At Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom), it competes loosely with petrol-powered options in the 125-200cc bracket while offering 180 km of IDC-certified range, a 110 kmph top speed and 0-40 kmph acceleration in 3 seconds. For buyers who do predictable daily commutes and want a motorcycle form factor over a scooter, the numbers add up on paper.
What Are the Specs and Tech on Offer?
The Oben Rorr Evo uses a 12.06 hp motor paired with a 3.4kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, an LFP cell chemistry chosen for longevity over energy density. Oben backs this with an eight-year battery warranty which is longer than what most rivals offer in this segment. Fast charging takes the battery from 0-80% in 90 minutes via the onboard charger.
On the tech side, the bike carries a 5-inch TFT display, over-the-air update capability, turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, remote immobilisation, fall detection as well as an emergency SOS function through Oben's ARGUS connected platform. The company also claims an AI-based ride optimisation system called SmartIQ that it says can improve range by up to 15% by reading riding patterns and adjusting power delivery accordingly.
Oben manufactures its key components in-house including the battery pack, motor, vehicle control unit, charger and software from a facility with over one lakh units of annual capacity. How well that scales to serve 25,000 orders in a reasonable timeframe will be the real test since booking numbers mean little if delivery windows stretch beyond three to four months.
