India's two-wheeler market is preparing for a major expansion with several upcoming launches from Royal Enfield, Ather and Ultraviolette. New products expected over the next few months include the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric, Flying Flea S6 scrambler, Ather EL platform-based scooter, Ultraviolette Shockwave motorcycle and Tesseract electric scooter. What makes these launches important is the clear shift happening in the EV market. Earlier, most electric two-wheelers focused mainly on affordability and city commuting. Now manufacturers are entering premium lifestyle and adventure touring and performance-focused segments as competition intensifies across India’s fast-growing EV industry.
Royal Enfield Is Preparing Multiple Electric Motorcycles
Royal Enfield’s EV plans are becoming clearer with the
upcoming Flying Flea S6 and Himalayan Electric attracting significant attention. The Flying Flea S6 is expected to arrive as a scrambler-style electric motorcycle positioned for urban riding and light off-road usage. Several industry reports suggest pricing could remain between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 3 lakh depending on the final battery and feature package.
The motorcycle is expected to use a mid-mounted electric motor delivering performance comparable to a 125 cc or 150 cc petrol bike. Features likely to be offered include ride modes, traction control, TFT instrumentation, OTA software updates as well as connected technology systems. Royal Enfield has also indicated that the Flying Flea platform may support multiple riding modes including off-road-oriented settings.
The Himalayan Electric, meanwhile could become one of India’s first premium electric adventure motorcycles from a mainstream manufacturer. Although technical specifications remain under wraps, the project signals Royal Enfield’s intention to expand beyond conventional commuter-focused EVs and target long-distance touring riders as well.

Ather And Ultraviolette Are Expanding Into New Segments
Ather Energy is also expected to introduce new products based on its upcoming EL platform. The new architecture could underpin larger, more family-oriented scooters positioned differently from the sporty 450 range currently sold in India.
Ultraviolette is aggressively broadening its electric portfolio. The upcoming Shockwave motorcycle is expected to target performance-oriented riders while the Ultraviolette Tesseract will mark the company’s entry into the premium electric scooter segment. Bookings are currently open for both models.
The Tesseract has already generated attention because of its claimed 261 km IDC range in higher-spec versions. Expect a top speed of 125 kmph and 0-60 kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. The scooter is additionally expected to feature technologies like front and rear dashcams, blind spot alerts, collision warnings along with wireless phone charging.
What this really shows is that India’s EV market is rapidly moving beyond basic low-speed scooters. Buyers are now being offered performance motorcycles, adventure-focused EVs and technology-heavy premium scooters. This is something that barely existed in the country just a few years ago.
