Bentley has pulled the covers off the 2027 Flying Spur, and two things are impossible to miss. One — for the first time since 1962, a Bentley sedan does not have quad headlamps. The new front end gets single units on each side, matching the Continental GT. Two — the Flying Spur S is back, now with a plug-in hybrid V8 making 670hp, up 20% over the previous S. Production kicks off in September 2026, deliveries begin early Q4 2026. Bentley has not announced pricing yet.
The Headlamps Are Gone and the Engine Is Much Stronger
Start with the front end, because that is where the biggest story is. Bentley sedans have had four headlamps — two on each side — since 1962. The 2027 Flying Spur drops that entirely, going to a single headlamp per side to match the Continental GT's current face. The grille, air
intakes, and bumper have all been redesigned around the new layout. On the sides, the slim fender vent behind the front wheels has been removed. Around the back, updated LED taillamps, a revised boot lid, and new 22-inch wheel designs round out the exterior changes on select variants.
Under the bonnet of the Flying Spur S, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 now has hybrid assistance, pushing combined output to 680 hp and 930 Nm of torque. It does 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and runs to 308 kmph. The S also picks up an electronic limited-slip differential for the first time, alongside twin-valve dampers, torque vectoring on both axles, a 48-volt active anti-roll system, and updated ESC software. You can spot the S by its gloss black grille mesh, black mirror caps, black side sill extensions, darkened exhausts, and tinted headlamps and tail-lamps — same treatment as the Continental GT S.
Inside: New Collection, Five Seat Styles, and One Very Expensive Speaker System
Bentley has added a Virtuoso Collection for buyers wanting more than the standard interior. It brings special materials, unique embroidery, Champagne Gold details on badges, exhaust tips and the key, and three themes — Soprano, Tenor and Bass — sitting between lighter and darker palettes. There is also a new Dark Teal exterior paint, mixing blue and green with metallic flakes.
The Flying Spur S now offers five seat styles across the range, each taking 12 hours to hand-finish with either fluted or quilted inserts. One option needs a clear mention — the Naim for Mulliner audio system, which traces its roots to the Focal Grand Utopia setup built for the limited-edition Batur. It costs 25,000 Euros as an add-on. At current exchange rates, that is around Rs 27 lakh just for the speakers. Bentley has not confirmed the car's price yet. Given the current Flying Spur starts above Rs 4 crore in India, the 2027 model will come in considerably higher when it eventually gets here.
