BMW iX1 LWB India Update — New Exterior Shade & Upholstery Options For The EV

BMW India has updated its best-selling electric SUV, the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase (LWB), with a fresh exterior shade and more premium cabin finishes. The locally produced electric model now gets a new Night

Dusk Blue metallic paint option along with two new Veganza upholstery choices, which are aimed at elevating both luxury and sustainability. Already the highest-selling premium EV in the country and BMW’s top electric model here, the iX1 LWB continues to evolve with India-specific updates, including earlier additions like a Surround View Camera and now this refreshed colour and interior palette.

Updated BMW iX1: New Night Dusk Blue Paint Joins The Palette

The big visual change is the addition of Night Dusk Blue metallic, a deep, rich shade that gives the iX1 LWB a more sophisticated and upmarket presence. It joins the existing lineup of Carbon Black, Mineral White and Skyscraper Grey, taking the total to four exterior colours. BMW says the new shade enhances the SUV’s bold stance and helps underline its “luxury electric” positioning on Indian roads.

Updated BMW iX1: New Veganza Upholstery, Same Spacious Cabin

Inside, the BMW iX1 LWB now offers two new Veganza (vegan leather) upholstery choices: Smoke White + Atlas Grey dual-tone and Castanea. Both are made from sustainably sourced vegan materials and feature a distinctive 3D stitching pattern, raising the perceived quality and comfort. BMW has also extended what it calls a “cocooning effect”: the upholstery colour now flows beyond the seats to the door panels, dashboard and even the speaker mesh, creating a wraparound, lounge-like feel in the cabin.

BMW iX1: India’s Highest-Selling Premium EV

BMW highlights that in less than a year of launch, the iX1 LWB has become its highest-sold electric vehicle in India and a key driver of the brand’s leadership in the luxury EV space. The company has been steadily tailoring the model to local preferences, first by adding more tech features like a Surround View Camera, and now by widening the aesthetic and comfort choices with the new colour and upholstery options. Bookings for the updated iX1 LWB are open at all BMW dealerships across the country.

Updated BMW iX1: Powertrain, Range And Space

Mechanically, nothing changes, and that is a good thing. The BMW iX1 LWB continues with fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, using a compact, integrated drive unit tuned for efficiency and agile dynamics. It produces 204 hp and 250 Nm of torque, fed by a 66.4 kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery integrated into the floor. Claimed range stands at up to 531 km (MIDC), helped by adaptive recuperation and one-pedal driving, which recovers energy while slowing down.
