Over 12,000 Hyundai Venue SUVs Sold In January - What's Driving Its Popularity?

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has started 2026 on a promising note, as the carmaker recorded its best-ever monthly sales in the month of January. With cumulative sales of 73,137 cars, Hyundai India sold 59,107

cars in India and exported 14,030 cars. Out of its domestic sales share, the automaker managed to push out 12,413 units of the New Hyundai Venue SUV, which was launched recently. This also marked the highest-ever monthly sales for the Venue model, which has been in the market since 2019. Other high-grossing models included the Aura sedan, which recorded 7,978 sales in January.

Coming back to the Venue, the new-generation model was launched in November 2025 at an attractive starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh ex-showroom. This time around, the Venue offers a completely redesigned exterior with the striking C-shaped LED DRL and headlamp combo on the front. The interior now feels futuristic and offers segment-leading features such as the dual 12.3-inch screen panoramic display, dual-tone ventilated leather seats, electric sunroof, 360-degree camera and more. It also gets 16 Level 2 ADAS safety functions and 6 airbags as standard across all variants.

What's Driving The Venue's Success?

While the Venue checks all the right boxes in terms of design and features, the reason behind its success can largely be attributed to its mass appeal, based on multiple price points, engine and transmission options that Hyundai has given the compact SUV. With over 20 variants across 9 trim levels to choose from, there is a Venue model that is suitable for a wide set of requirements. Priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.69 lakh ex-showroom, the SUV offers an attractive gateway into the sport utility segment.

Hyundai offers two petrol and one diesel engine option in the Venue, including a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine option. Across these powertrains, customers are also able to choose between a manual, automatic, or a double-clutch (DCT) automatic transmission to suit individual needs. This variety, combined with up-to-date styling and features seem to be working in favour of the Hyundai Venue and has led to its best-ever monthly sales in January 2026.
