Mahindra has built a strong reputation in India for making tough, feature-rich SUVs, and two of its most talked-about models today are the all-new Mahindra XUV 7XO and the well-established Mahindra XUV700. While both SUVs sit close in price and share Mahindra’s signature DNA, they are designed with slightly different buyers in mind.
Price and Positioning
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is priced between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 24.92 lakh (ex-showroom), which placed it as Mahindra’s most advanced and tech-forward ICE SUV yet. The XUV700, priced from Rs 13.66 lakh to Rs 23.71 lakh (ex-showroom), continues to be a popular family SUV offering strong performance and space. While the prices are almost similar, the XUV 7XO feels like a newer-generation product focused
on premium experiences, whereas the XUV700 remains an all-rounder.

Design and Road Presence
The XUV 7XO looks bold and futuristic as it gets a new piano black grille with jewel-like accents, sharp Bi-LED projector headlamps, diamond-inspired LED tail lamps, electric smart door handles, and large 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. This SUV is clearly styled for buyers who want their vehicle to stand out.
The XUV700, on the other hand, has a muscular and sporty design. Signature “X”-plor LED DRLs, flush door handles and a wide stance give it a strong road presence. While it looks premium, its design feels more mature and family-oriented compared to the flashier XUV 7XO.
Interior Comfort and Technology
The XUV 7XO offers first-in-segment features such as front and rear ventilated seats, powered driver and co-driver seats with memory and Boss Mode, plush high-density foam seats, multi-zone ambient lighting and soft-touch leatherette interiors. The highlight is the coast-to-coast triple-screen setup, powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, along with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Alexa with ChatGPT integration and even a theatre mode.
Whereas, the XUV700 also offers a premium cabin with dual 10.25-inch screens, Adrenox connected tech, Alexa Built-in, panoramic Skyroof, wireless charging and a 12-speaker 3D audio system. It feels modern and comfortable, but doesn’t go as futuristic as the XUV 7XO.
Engines and Driving Experience
Both SUVs offer strong petrol and diesel engines. The XUV 7XO introduces the new DAVINCI suspension system, promising superior ride comfort and handling. It also offers All-Wheel Drive, multiple drive modes and impressive acceleration.
The XUV700 comes with proven 2.0L turbo-petrol and 2.2L diesel engines which are known for their punchy performance. AWD (all wheel drive) is available on select diesel automatic variants, which makes it capable on highways and rough roads alike.
Safety
Safety is a strong point for both SUVs. The XUV 7XO is packed with over 120 safety features, Level-2 ADAS with advanced visualisation, a 540-degree surround view camera and is engineered for a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. It even gets 7 airbags with curtain airbags extending to the third row.
However, the XUV700 is already a proven performer with a 5-star Global NCAP rating, Level-2 ADAS, up to 7 airbags, blind view monitoring and a 360-degree camera.
Which One Should You Choose?
If you want the latest technology, futuristic design and luxury-first experience, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is the clear choice. However, if you are looking for a trusted, powerful, spacious family SUV with proven reliability, the Mahindra XUV700 still makes excellent sense. Both SUVs show the caliber of Indian carmakers that offers world-class features for Indian buyers.
