Vespa 946 Horse Revealed Globally As Limited Edition Scooter - Details Inside

Vespa has revealed a new limited-edition scooter ‘Vespa 946 Horse’ which is designed to celebrate the Year of the Horse. Along with this scooter, Vespa has also launched a new clothing collection named ‘In Sella’, which is the third release under its AL VENTO apparel line. Both the scooter and the clothing take inspiration from equestrian culture and Vespa’s own design history.

The Vespa 946 is not a regular mass-market model as it sits at the top of Vespa’s line-up and is made in limited numbers. The 946 Horse is part of Vespa’s Lunar Collection, which includes earlier special editions inspired by zodiac signs such as the Dragon and the Snake.

The Vespa 946 Horse is made in a bay brown colour, a shade which is commonly associated with horses. The steel body uses a mix of matte and glossy finishes and gold details are used carefully across the design, including a small V-shaped badge placed below the seat. This badge is shaped like a horseshoe, which linked the design directly to the Year of the Horse theme.

One of the main highlights of this scooter is its seat as the leather saddle is inspired by horse riding equipment and is handcrafted in Italy. The same leather is also used on the handlebars and rear-view mirrors which helps to maintain a uniform and premium look throughout the scooter.

Vespa is also offering special accessories with this limited-edition model. Customers can choose a rear-mounted leather bag made from the same leather as the seat. There is also a windshield supported by aluminium brackets, a matching jet-style helmet has been designed for the Vespa 946 Horse and features a gold V emblem at the back. This helmet will be sold in limited quantities from February 10.

The ‘In Sella’ clothing range includes items like a wool varsity jacket, sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirts, T-shirts and a poplin shirt. The designs feature a new Royal crest graphic showing a horse and a dachshund, inspired by old Vespa artwork. Navy blue is the main colour used across the collection.

Pre-orders for the Vespa 946 Horse will begin on January 26 through Vespa’s official website and at the Vespa The Empty Space store in Milan, where the scooter will also be displayed. The ‘In Sella’ clothing line will go on sale on the same day.
