Hyundai has revised the i20 N Line lineup in India by discontinuing the N6 DCT variant, effectively making the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox exclusive to the top-spec N8 trim. The update also removes dual-tone paint options from the N6 variant, reducing overall configuration choices for buyers. With this change, the entry point for the i20 N Line automatic range has gone up significantly. The revision is important because the N6 DCT earlier served as a relatively more accessible turbo-petrol automatic option for buyers looking at sporty premium hatchbacks without stretching to the higher-spec N8 variant. Prices for the i20 N Line start at Rs 9.21 lakh and go up to Rs 11.67 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
Hyundai Limits DCT Gearbox To Top-Spec N8 Variant
The biggest change in the
updated Hyundai i20 N Line range is the removal of the N6 DCT variant from sale. Earlier, buyers could choose the seven-speed DCT gearbox in both N6 and N8 trims. Now, automatic buyers only get the N8 DCT option.
The discontinued N6 DCT variant was earlier priced at Rs 10.23 lakh (ex-showroom). Following the update, buyers wanting the DCT transmission now need to spend at least Rs 11.53 lakh for the N8 DCT variant, creating a price jump of around Rs 1.30 lakh.
Hyundai has also removed dual-tone exterior colour choices from the N6 trim. Dual-tone paint schemes are now limited to the N8 variant, available at an additional Rs 14,000 premium. The move is part of Hyundai’s effort to streamline the sporty hatchback’s lineup and reduce lower-demand configurations.

Engine And Features Continue Without Mechanical Changes
The Hyundai i20 N Line continues with the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque. Transmission choices now include a six-speed manual gearbox across variants, while the seven-speed DCT remains exclusive to the N8 trim.
For MY2026, Hyundai has also added a built-in dashcam and dongle-based wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity on the N8 trim. Other features continue unchanged, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose sound system, connected car technology as well as N Line-specific cosmetic updates.
The latest revision could affect buyers comparing the i20 N Line with turbo-petrol rivals such as the Tata Altroz Racer and Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo, especially those looking for a more affordable automatic performance-oriented hatchback.
