What is the story about?
Mahindra
has introduced a mild update for the Thar in 2025. While the changes are not extensive on the outside, the SUV now features several updates inside the cabin to make it more practical and easier to live with. The focus of this update is comfort, convenience, and usability rather than a complete redesign. Here’s a complete look at what has changed compared to the older model.
Restyled Front Grille
At first glance, the Thar looks almost identical to the outgoing version. However, there is a small tweak to the front grille. The black highlights around the grille, which were present on the older version, are now finished in body colour for a more cohesive appearance.New Dashboard Design
Inside, the Thar sees more noticeable changes. The dashboard has been refreshed with a new all-black theme. The overall layout remains the same, but the darker finish gives the cabin a more premium and uniform look. Also Read: New Mahindra Thar Launched In India From Rs 9.99 Lakh - New Features, Price, And Specs
Redesigned Centre Console
The centre console has undergone a significant redesign. The outgoing model featured two cup holders and power window switches placed in the middle. The new version replaces this setup with a central armrest, improving comfort during long drives.Power Window Switchgear On Door Pads
Another convenience update comes in the form of repositioned power window switches. Previously placed on the centre console, these have now been moved to the door pads, making them easier to access and more in line with modern SUV layouts.New Touchscreen Infotainment System
The biggest tech addition is a new 10.24-inch infotainment display. This is the same unit seen on the Thar Roxx and supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Mahindra has also added a new steering wheel design, again borrowed from the Roxx, to complete the update. Also Read: Tata Altroz Vs Hyundai i20: Which Hatchback Is Best For You?
Added Practical Features

The SUV also gains a rear washer and wiper, improving practicality. Additionally, Mahindra has added a remote fuel cap opening feature.Do you find this article useful?
