The Capricorn 01 Zagato has officially been revealed, marking the debut of a new driver-focused hypercar that blends German engineering precision, Italian design flair, and American muscle. Developed jointly by the Capricorn Group and design house Zagato, the 01 is being produced in a strictly limited run of 19 units, each priced from around $3.15 million.
Unlike most modern hypercars that rely on hybrid systems or advanced electronics, the Capricorn 01 Zagato takes a completely analogue approach. It’s powered by a non-electrified, supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine paired with a traditional six-speed manual gearbox. Capricorn founder and CEO Robertino Wild said the idea was to create a machine that reconnects the driver to the act of driving,
without digital filters or excessive assistance systems.

The engine, derived from a Ford design but heavily re-engineered by Capricorn, delivers over 888 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. Combined with a lightweight carbon monocoque chassis and extensive use of composite materials, the car’s dry weight stays under 1,200 kg. The result is a power-to-weight ratio that promises exceptional performance, with 0–100 km/h coming in under three seconds and a top speed of around 360 km/h.
Visually, the 01 bears Zagato’s distinctive design DNA, in particular the double-bubble roof and sculpted, flowing lines. Every surface serves a functional purpose, reflecting both aerodynamic efficiency and timeless proportions. Inside, the approach remains deliberately minimalistic. Analogue dials replace digital screens, and the absence of an infotainment system keeps the focus firmly on driving.

Production will take place in Germany, with deliveries planned for select global markets including the EU, UK, Japan, and Canada. Each of the 19 cars will be hand-built to order. Capricorn has also announced plans to expand its facilities near the Nürburgring by 2026, enabling future small-batch production of other high-performance models under the Capricorn brand.
By choosing to forgo hybrid technology, electronic driving aids, and active aerodynamics, the Capricorn 01 Zagato deliberately goes against current industry trends. It represents a return to mechanical purity and driver engagement; a nod to an era when performance was defined by skill rather than software.
