Honda Cars India has reported its sales numbers for March 2026. The company sold a total of 10,036 passenger vehicles, showing that while demand in India is improving, exports remain under pressure. Honda sold 7,585 units in the domestic market in March 2026. This is a growth of 4.93% compared to the same month last year. This increase may look small, but in today’s competitive market, even steady growth matters. It also shows that Honda’s current models are still attracting buyers.
Cars like the Honda Amaze and Honda Elevate continue to perform well. These models are popular because they are simple to drive, reliable, and offer good value for money. Despite the growth in India, Honda’s total sales dropped by 15.55% year-on-year. The company
sold 11,884 units in March 2025, compared to 10,036 units this year.
The main reason behind this decline is a sharp fall in exports. Honda exported 2,451 units in March 2026, which is a big drop from 4,656 units last year. This is a 47.35% decline. Exports are important for car companies because they help increase overall sales and improve profits.

A drop in exports can happen due to many reasons such as global demand slowdown, currency changes, or market competition in other countries. Even though exports are down, Honda’s focus on the Indian market is helping balance the situation.
According to company officials, demand for models like Amaze and Elevate remains strong. Special offers and product updates have helped bring customers into showrooms. Honda has also shared that it is preparing for the future. The company plans to introduce its first electric car (BEV) in India in the second half of the upcoming financial year.
This is a positive sign as it shows that Honda is still active in the market and planning new products. The focus on improving its lineup and entering the EV space means buyers will get more options in the near future.
The March 2026 numbers from Honda Cars India tell that domestic demand is growing, but exports are facing challenges. Honda’s strength in India and upcoming plans, including an electric vehicle, could help the brand regain stronger overall growth in the coming months.
