If you are new to the world of cars and want to understand which SUV might suit your style better, the upcoming Tata Sierra and the popular Kia Seltos make an interesting comparison. One is already on the road
and the other is one of India’s most awaited launches of 2025.
Current vs Upcoming
The Kia Seltos is one of the well-established compact SUVs in the market right now. It is known for its stylish looks, smooth engines and feature-loaded variants.
The Tata Sierra, on the other hand, is set to make a comeback in November 2025. This modern version is bigger, more powerful and expected to introduce advanced technology features and an electric variant.

Dimensions and Road Presence
A car’s size matters the most for space, comfort and road presence. Kia Seltos is 4365 mm in length, 1800 mm wide and 1645 mm tall, where as Tata Sierra is 4400 mm in length, 1918 mm wide and is 1925 mm in height.
The Sierra is longer, wider and much taller, which gives it a bold, SUV-like stance. Its design follows a boxy, rugged style inspired by the original Sierra. The Seltos, meanwhile, has a sleeker, more modern urban-SUV design. If we look at the storage space practicality Sierra has 447 litres of boot, whereas Seltos has 433 litres boot.
Engines and Performance
Kia Seltos is offered in two engine options, which are 1.5L Petrol (113 bhp, 144 Nm) and 1.5L Diesel (113 bhp, 250 Nm). We expect that Tata Sierra will be offered in three trim engines which will be 1.5L Turbo Petrol (170 PS, 280 Nm), 2.0L Diesel (170 PS, 350 Nm) and Full Electric Version (EV).
The Sierra is expected to offer much more power than the Seltos in both petrol and diesel engines. Also, the EV option makes it future-ready, while the Seltos is limited to petrol and diesel only.
Features and Interiors
Kia Seltos is known for its rich features, but now Tata seems ready to go even further. Kia Seltos is equipped with up to 10.25-inch touchscreen, 6-speaker audio, ventilated seats, sunroof and connected car features. However, we expect Tata Sierra to have triple-screen dashboard layout, premium upholstery, multi-colour ambient lighting, 12-speaker JBL sound system and lounge-like rear seating.
Price
Kia Seltos starts at a price of Rs 10.79 and goes till Rs 19.80 lakh, whereas we expect Tata Sierra to be priced between Rs11-Rs 18 lakh.
