Dacia has revealed the Hipster EV Concept, a compact electric city car designed to showcase the brand’s vision for affordable and efficient urban mobility. With a modest range of around 100 km, the Hipster EV Concept focuses on practicality and simplicity rather than high-end performance; an approach that could make sense in dense city environments like India.
The Dacia Hipster EV Measures Just 3,000 MM In Length
Measuring just 3,000 mm in length and weighing about 800 kg, the Hipster EV Concept is engineered for easy manoeuvrability and low running costs. Dacia says most urban commuters rarely exceed 40 km a day, making the short range a realistic fit for daily city use. The small footprint and lightweight build are intended to make the car effortless to park and drive in congested traffic.

True to Dacia’s utilitarian design philosophy, the Hipster EV Concept features a clean, boxy silhouette that prioritises interior space. A split tailgate adds practicality, while only three painted body panels are used to keep production simple and sustainable. The brand has also employed recycled plastics in several parts of the body.
Dacia Hipster EV Offers Up To 500 Litres Of Boot Space
Inside, the Hipster EV Concept offers space for four adults, with an upright windscreen and large vertical windows. The boot can expand from 70 litres to 500 litres with the rear seats folded down. Essential safety features like dual airbags and ISOFIX mounts for child seats are also part of the package.
In place of a built-in infotainment system, Dacia uses a “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) setup. The driver’s smartphone doubles as the infotainment hub and digital key, a move aimed at reducing costs while allowing users to rely on familiar technology.

Will The Dacia Hipster EV Come To India?
The Hipster EV Concept is expected to inspire a future production model, likely positioned below the Dacia Spring in the company’s lineup. While the production version is still some years away, Dacia has hinted at a potential launch timeline of 2026–27. Although there’s no confirmation of an India launch, the Hipster EV Concept’s compact size and practical design could make it a strong fit for Indian cities if brought to market.
