Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2026 Ninja 650 in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.91 lakh. The Ninja 650 is a familiar and trusted name, but what makes this launch interesting is that the 2026 model will be sold alongside the 2025 version.
Not much has changed mechanically in the 2026 version, but there are a few important upgrades that improve the overall experience. Kawasaki has focused on refining the package rather than reinventing it and this also makes the Ninja 650 one of the first motorcycles in India to receive a 2026 (MY26) update, joining premium models like the Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-6R.

In terms of styling, the 2026
Ninja 650 looks largely the same as the outgoing model, as it continues with the sharp and sporty Ninja design that many riders admire. While international markets get multiple colour choices such as Matte Grey and Black, Indian buyers will only get the Lime Green paint scheme with white and blue graphics. Meanwhile, the MY25 version will still be available in Lime Green with Ebony and Pearl Blizzard White. Lime Green colour is Kawasaki’s signature colour and remains one of the most recognizable bike designs on Indian roads.
One of the most notable upgrades for the 2026 model is the addition of a 4.3-inch TFT digital display and this modern screen supports smartphone connectivity, which makes it easier for riders to access information and basic functions. The bike also comes with full LED lighting, which improves visibility and gives it a premium feel.
Safety has not been ignored either, as the Ninja 650 now offers traction control with two riding modes, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and dual throttle valves, all of which help new riders feel more confident and in control on Indian roads.
The Ninja 650 is equipped with a 649 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, which means the engine is strong but smooth, making it suitable for riders upgrading from smaller bikes. It produces 67 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch.
The bike is built on a high-tensile steel trellis frame, with 41 mm telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock for balanced suspension. Braking is handled by dual 300 mm discs at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear, offering strong stopping power. With a seat height of 790 mm, 15-litre fuel tank, 130 mm ground clearance, and a curb weight of 196 kg, the Ninja 650 balances comfort, stability, and sporty performance well.
Overall, the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 continues to be a solid choice for riders who want to enter the middleweight sports bike segment without feeling overwhelmed.
