Kia India has introduced a brand-new HTE(EX) trim to its Carens Clavis (ICE) at the starting price of Rs 12.54 lakh (ex-showroom). One of the biggest highlights of the new HTE(EX) variant is the introduction of a skylight electric sunroof in the G1.5 petrol powertrain for the first time, as until now, buyers opting for the standard petrol engine had to compromise on this feature.
Price
The HTE(EX) trim is available across all ICE powertrains and comes exclusively in a 7-seater configuration. Prices start at Rs 12.54 lakh (ex-showroom) for the G1.5 petrol, Rs 13.41 lakh for the G1.5 turbo-petrol, and go up to Rs 14.52 lakh for the D1.5 diesel variant. Positioned above the existing HTE(O) trim, this new variant offers better value by adding comfort
and convenience features that were previously missing at this price point.
Interior
Inside the cabin, Kia has focused on improving everyday comfort as the HTE(EX) now gets Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC) which allows the car to automatically maintain the desired cabin temperature without constant manual adjustments. LED cabin lamps improve interior lighting and give the cabin a more modern and premium ambience.

Exterior
On the outside, the Carens Clavis HTE(EX) looks more stylish due to LED DRLs and position lamps, which not only enhance the vehicle’s front design but also improve visibility. Kia has also added an auto up/down driver-side power window.
Commenting on the launch, Kia India highlighted that this new trim is a direct result of listening to customer needs, as according to the company, buyers wanted features like a sunroof and better climate control without having to move to much higher variants. By offering these features across petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel options, Kia aims to make the Carens Clavis an even more attractive choice in a highly competitive segment.
With the introduction of the HTE(EX) trim, Kia continues to refine its Carens Clavis lineup, balancing design, practicality, technology, and affordability.
