Kawasaki India is offering a Rs 2.89 lakh discount on the Ninja ZX-10R, dropping its effective ex-showroom price to Rs 17.90 lakh from Rs 20.79 lakh. The offer has been communicated through Kawasaki's official social media and is currently valid until June 30, 2026. Nothing has changed mechanically — same bike, lower price tag. At Rs 17.90 lakh, no other litre-class supersport in India is currently cheaper, with the BMW S 1000 RR starting over Rs 5 lakh higher.
How the Discount Actually Works
This isn't a straight price cut on the sticker. The Rs 2.89 lakh comes as a voucher applied against the ex-showroom price — which means your insurance and RTO registration will still be calculated on the original Rs 20.79 lakh figure. That's something dealers don't always volunteer upfront.
So while the saving is genuine, your on-road costs won't drop by the full Rs 2.89 lakh. Keep that in mind when budgeting. What's left after accounting for those costs can go toward riding gear or accessories.
Engine Numbers Worth Knowing
Under the bodywork sits a 998cc inline-four, liquid-cooled engine. Standard output is 203PS at 13,200 rpm, and that climbs to around 210 hp once the RAM Air intake kicks in at higher speeds. Torque is rated at 114.9 Nm, arriving at 11,400 rpm. The gearbox is a 6-speed unit with a slipper clutch and a bidirectional quickshifter — both standard, not optional extras. These aren't numbers that need padding — they speak for themselves in the litre-class segment.
Electronics on Board
The ZX-10R gets a TFT display and a reasonably complete electronics package — multiple riding modes, traction control, launch control, engine brake control, and cruise control. Suspension is a USD fork upfront and an adjustable monoshock at the rear, sitting on a tubular diamond frame. Braking is disc at both ends with ABS. It's a well-sorted package for a track-leaning machine that also sees road use.
How It Stacks Up Against Rivals on Price
The BMW S 1000 RR starts at Rs 23.25 lakh — that's Rs 5.35 lakh more than what the ZX-10R costs right now with the discount applied. The Ducati Panigale V4 is further still. For someone who wants litre-class performance without stretching to European pricing, the ZX-10R currently has no real competition on value in India. That gap is meaningful, not marginal.
Timing Your Purchase
The discount window closes June 30, 2026, or earlier if stock runs out — whichever comes first. Kawasaki has been rolling this offer forward since March 2026, which likely points to inventory clearance ahead of model updates. There's no change to warranty or service terms. If you've been sitting on the fence, the math currently works in the buyer's favour — just go in with clear eyes on what the on-road number will actually look like after registration and insurance.
